Vanessa Fuchs Turns Up as Natalie Portman’s Stripper From Closer in a Pink Wig and Purple Lingerie

Of all the ways to dress up for Heidi Klum’s Halloween party, Vanessa Fuchs chose the cheekiest. The Germany’s Next Topmodel winner turned up on Saturday night as Alice, Natalie Portman’s strip-club dancer from the 2004 film Closer.

If you have seen the movie, you know the look instantly: a sharp pink bob, a tiny purple lingerie-style two-piece trimmed with white fringe and an air of mystery. Vanessa nailed the lot, then threw a dramatic white fur coat over her shoulders for the full off-duty dancer energy.

The Closer callback

Portman’s scenes as Alice earned her a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination, and the pink wig has since become one of the most recognisable film looks of the 2000s. It is a deep cut for a Halloween costume, but at a party packed with film nerds and fashion people, it landed.

Vanessa posed on the blue carpet at Cathédrale in New York alongside her date, who kept things buttoned up in a navy waistcoat and white shirt. One of them was clearly dressed for a strip club. The other was dressed like he was paying the tab.

The Daily Mail named her among the night’s “most daring arrivals”, which is saying something at a party where guests also turned up as Poison Ivy, Jessica Rabbit and a lady with a metallic silver corset and white body paint.

Heidi herself skipped sexy altogether and came as a giant, blood-soaked replica of her own severed hand, wedding ring included. Mike Marino’s prosthetics took around four months to make. Vanessa’s look probably took a fraction of that, and arguably got just as many double takes.

As a former winner of Heidi’s own modelling show, Vanessa clearly understood the assignment: go big, go bold, go home with the best pics.

Scoop’s verdict? Pink wig, purple lingerie, fur coat, zero apologies. Vanessa Fuchs gave the party exactly what its title promised: something to look at a little closer.
