Nicole Scherzinger Does the Splits in a Leopard Leotard as Pussycat Dolls End Cursed Tour
Don’t cha wish your tour was this messy? The Dolls wrapped their troubled PCD Forever comeback in Brazil, and Nicole made sure everyone was looking.
Loosen up those buttons, babe. Nicole Scherzinger just closed out the Pussycat Dolls’ comeback the only way she knows how: legs in the air.
The 48-year-old frontwoman, alongside Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, brought the curtain down on the PCD Forever tour in São Paulo, Brazil, and the trio went out exactly as scantily clad as you would hope.
Leopard, cut-outs and a pole
Nicole showed off her ridiculous flexibility by dropping into the splits against a stage pole in a revealing leopard-print leotard covered in cut-outs, with black strapping, thigh-high leopard boots and a sky-high ponytail. Very little was left to the imagination, and roughly 30,000 Brazilian fans were not complaining.
Ashley matched her in leopard, flashing her abs in a cut-out crop top, high-waisted briefs, fishnets and thigh-high boots. “BRAZIL… 40,000 of gorgeous humans,” she wrote on Instagram afterwards, describing the experience as “surreal”. We will clean up the rest of her quote for the kids.
The tour from hell
The sexy finale papered over a comeback that has been, frankly, cursed. According to the Daily Mail, the tour was plagued by poor ticket sales, member feuds, cancelled dates and horror injuries.
The group had to scrap 33 US and Canadian dates after reports of arenas sitting 80 per cent empty, even with seats slashed to just $30. Nicole suffered a horror burn, Kimberly has been recovering from hip surgery, and Ashley broke down in tears after “freaking out” before a solo.
Then there was the night in Poland when Nicole went missing for half of Buttons, leaving Ashley and Kimberly awkwardly dancing to a backing track while fans blamed a technical issue or a wardrobe malfunction. And three founding Dolls, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta and Melody Thornton, were never even invited back.
Brazil saved it
Brazil, at least, gave them a proper send-off. It was the group’s first ever performance in the country, with a huge show at Nubank Parque followed by an intimate fan-only gig at Tokio Marine Hall. Nicole belted out “Don’t Cha”, “Buttons”, “Stickwitu” and “When I Grow Up”, painted her nails in the colours of the Brazilian flag and was later spotted out with fiancé Thom Evans.
The trio shared a sweet group hug on stage as they wrapped it up for good, or at least until the next reunion.
Scoop’s verdict? Empty arenas, burns, tears and a missing Doll mid-song. But one leopard leotard and a perfect split later, Nicole proved the Pussycat Dolls still know how to finish on top.
