Hilary Duff, 39, Flaunts Her Curves in a High-Cut Yellow Swimsuit in Mexico

Hilary Duff is celebrating 39 the right way. The actress and singer, who turned 39 on September 28, took a belated birthday girls’ trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico — and was spotted on the beach in a swimsuit that HELLO! said turned heads.

The Lizzie McGuire star chose a bright yellow one-piece with a scooped neckline, delicate straps and a high-cut leg, according to HELLO!. She added a dark teal baseball cap, oversized brown-tinted sunglasses, hoop earrings, a pendant necklace and a pale wristwatch, and walked barefoot across the sand alongside friends in an assortment of swimsuits, bikinis and sun hats. Just Jared reported that Mandy Moore was reportedly on the trip, though she doesn’t appear in any of the beach photos.

The swimsuit moment is fitting. Hilary was one of the cover stars of the 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, photographed by Kat Irlin in South Caicos, joining Tiffany Haddish, Alix Earle and Nicole Williams English on the cover line-up, HELLO! noted.

It has been a big year. Her sixth studio album, Luck… or Something, arrived in February — her return to albums after more than a decade — followed by her Lucky Me tour. Just Jared reported she dropped a new song, “CATastrophe,” for her birthday; it features on the soundtrack of the new animated The Cat in the Hat, in theatres November 6, and was written with husband Matthew Koma, Madison Love and Brian Philips. She has also announced more Lucky Me Tour dates for 2027 and will perform on select dates of this year’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour.

At home, she is a mother of four: son Luca, 14, with ex-husband Mike Comrie, and daughters Banks, Mae and Townes with Koma, whom she married in December 2019. And she has never had time for body-shamers. In 2017, after beach photos with Luca drew scrutiny, she wrote on Instagram: “My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago.”

Scoop’s verdict? Swimsuit: yellow. Leg: high-cut. Confidence: off the charts. Hilary Duff just made 39 look like the best birthday yet.
