Haley Kalil Pours Every Curve Into a Red Sequin Jessica Rabbit Gown at Heidi Klum’s Party
The model and creator went full cartoon bombshell at Heidiween, with a flaming red wig, purple opera gloves and a plunging sparkly gown.
“I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.” Haley Kalil clearly took Jessica Rabbit’s most famous line as a personal challenge on Saturday night.
The model and content creator turned up to Heidi Klum’s 25th annual Halloween party at Cathédrale in New York on October 31 dressed as the famously voluptuous Who Framed Roger Rabbit bombshell, and the photographers did not know where to point their lenses first.
Sequins, gloves and that hair
Haley nailed every detail. A floor-length red sequin gown hugged her from chest to ankle, with a sweetheart neckline doing some extremely heavy lifting. Long purple opera gloves went past the elbow, and a sweeping, flame-red wig was swooped over one eye in classic Jessica style.
She worked the blue carpet with hip-popping poses, then carried the look inside, where she was snapped alongside fellow guests in costume, including someone in a full pink bunny suit. A Roger Rabbit cameo? We choose to believe so.
The Daily Mail summed it up as bringing “cartoon glamor to the red carpet”, and ELLE ranked her among the very best costumes of the night, right up there with the hostess herself.
Up against a severed hand
Competition was stiff. Heidi arrived as a giant bloody replica of her own chopped-off hand, Vanessa Fuchs came as Natalie Portman’s stripper from Closer, and Valentina Sampaio vamped it up as Poison Ivy. But when it comes to pure va-va-voom, it was hard to beat a sparkly red dress and a wiggle.
Jessica Rabbit is one of the most-copied Halloween costumes of all time for a reason. Very few people actually pull it off. Haley made it look like she stepped straight out of the cartoon, minus the animator.
Scoop’s verdict? Not bad, not drawn that way, just extremely good at Halloween. Roger is a lucky rabbit.
