Eiza González’s See-Through Fendi Gown Hangs on by the Thinnest Strings in London

Eiza González did not dress for the London weather. The Mexican actress and singer walked the red carpet for the premiere of her new film I Love Boosters at the Royal Festival Hall during the BFI London Film Festival on Friday, alongside co-stars Naomi Ackie and Poppy Liu — in a dress theFashionSpot said “goes completely see-through.”

The gown was a black lace and tulle maxi from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall/Winter 2026-2027 debut collection for Fendi, priced at $10,500, according to theFashionSpot. It had a corset-style lace bodice with a slightly fitted waist and a full black tulle skirt so sheer it revealed her legs underneath. The thinnest shoulder straps held the whole thing up, and an open back added one more revealing detail.

She kept the extras in silver. theFashionSpot reported David Yurman DY Mercer hoops in sterling silver with pavé-set diamonds ($4,800) and a David Yurman Albion ring with an 11mm black onyx centre stone ringed in pavé diamonds ($850), plus black pointed-toe stilettos. Her honey-brunette hair was worn long, straight and side-parted, with dewy makeup that let her natural freckles show. Red Carpet Fashion Awards named her stylist as Elizabeth Stewart.

Not everyone was sold on the frock, though. Red Carpet Fashion Awards was blunt: “I’m not a sheer-dress hater, but I don’t find this Fendi Fall 2026 dress appealing at all.” The site’s biggest gripe was the lining — covered on top, not below — adding that “the visible briefs only add to my frustration with this design.” Still, it conceded: “Eiza looks beautiful, as always.”

Perfect Routine reported the barely-there construction “generated widespread discussion across fashion circles,” and said González stood out as a prominent style icon of the evening at a premiere that drew plenty of stars.
